Delivering bespoke email alerts to your automated subscribers

Great looking HTML emails for non-regulatory content

Our email alerting tool is a great way for your stakeholders to keep up to date with your regulatory announcements, but how do you communicate with them for non-regulatory matters? Let us take care of that for you too!

First, some fairly boring context and a little backstory.

For GDPR and privacy reasons, our automated regulatory news email alerts service sees your website visitors sign up with us, to receive emails from us, about a particular company like yours.

We run the service on your behalf, the user has to agree to our privacy policy, and we remain the data controller and processor. Put simply, it’s our tool sending emails about your announcements.

It works great for a no-maintenance alerting service. Users sign up and receive an email each time you release a regulatory announcement, and you can get access to your subscriber lists periodically on request.

But if you wanted to send those subscribers something non-regulatory in nature, well, you were on your own. We’d hand over the list and you would have to manage your own mass mailings using a third party service. Not any more!

You provide the content, we’ll do the rest

We self-host a mass mailing solution akin to services like Mailchimp or Constant Contact for our own newsletters and client updates. We can now use this service to send similar emails for you, too.

Perhaps you have a trading update, a new contract win, or maybe you’ve just filmed an executive interview that you’re keen to share with your stakeholders.

Whatever the occasion, you send us the content and we’ll get the message out to your subscribers without fuss.

It’s also a handy tool for migrating subscribers from your previous vendor to our systems.

We can’t just subscribe them to our system outright as we have to record their explicit consent, but as a technical delivery partner, we can take a list you provide and invite users to subscribe with us to continue receiving future updates.

Our mailing platform is linked to our email alerts subscriber database so regulatory and non-regulatory emails remain in sync. It also includes open and click tracking, and we can provide a report following each mailing to help you understand how your audience interacted with it.

Ensuring deliverability and device compatibility

Creating HTML emails that look great on all devices isn’t always straightforward.

While there are a handful of browsers for web pages, there’s a much larger number of potential email clients and end user devices out there, and they each interpret code in slightly different ways. Our mailings include device and client specific code to compensate.

Apple Mail, Outlook 2007 (yes, really) all the way up to Office 365, Gmail, Yahoo, iPhones, Android, dark mode vs light mode… the list is almost endless. That’s why we automate testing using Litmus. It helps us ensure visual consistency regardless of where your user reads their email.

Crafting a great looking email is only half the battle. We also have to make sure it arrives in their inbox!

Providers including Yahoo! and Gmail recently changed their policies to protect their users from unwanted spam, with the introduction of enhanced sender requirements. In summary, we had to ensure we verified our sender identity using SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, essentially adding extra authenticity to our domain

We’ve also integrated our platforms with AWS SES and Mailgun to send bulk emails with good reason. These services allow us greater control over deliverability and offer full monitoring and deliverability tools. They also scale quickly, so sending to hundreds or thousands of people at once becomes a breeze.

Mailgun Deliverability

The end result is a low-cost and fully integrated mass emailing solution that’s designed to help you stay connected to your subscribers. Once we have the template in place, we can quickly send your content with ease.
